This proof-of-concept short "Roar" captures the intense climax of a final battle, with our determined protagonist, Emily, ready to lead the charge. Our goal for this project was to explore animating a character in the captivating style of the popular animated series "Arcane."
We brought this short to life by combining 3D models with hand-painted textures, creating a unique and stylized flair that sets it apart from typical 3D productions. A core objective was to seamlessly integrate emotions with the backing soundtrack, as "Roar" was initially conceived as a music video.
This project gave us an incredible opportunity to deepen our understanding of stylized animation and visual storytelling. We studied studios like Fortiche Production to refine our own artistic techniques. We're excited to apply these sharpened techniques to future productions!
